China's photovoltaic power generation technology lights up the Green World Cup

23-11-2022

In the flickering lights, the 2022 Qatar World Cup kicked off, and the passion of fans around the world was ignited again. Do you know that every light that lights up the World Cup stadium is full of "Chinese elements"?

Solar EPC project from China

Just one month before the opening of the Qatar World Cup, the 800 MWAl Kasa photovoltaic power plant in Qatar, which was EPC contracted by Power China, was successfully put into operation. Full capacity grid connected power generation provides strong green energy for Qatar World Cup.

China's photovoltaic power

The Alkasa PV Power Station Project is located in the desert 80 kilometers west of Doha, the capital of Qatar. The park covers an area of 10 square kilometers and has installed more than 2 million solar panels. It uses the unique solar and thermal resources in the region to produce electricity. It is currently the world's third largest single photovoltaic power generation project and the world's largest photovoltaic project using tracking systems and double-sided modules.

As a part of Qatar's "Vision of 2030", the power station is the first non fossil fuel power station in Qatar and one of the largest photovoltaic power stations in the Middle East. The photovoltaic power station is expected to provide about 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of clean power every year, meet the annual power consumption of about 300000 households, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 900000 tons every year. In the future, it can meet 10% of Qatar's peak power demand, and is expected to reduce about 26 million tons of carbon emissions.

It is of milestone significance for the development of Qatar's new energy industry. Meanwhile, before the 2022 World Cup

Full capacity grid connected power generation strongly supports Qatar's commitment to host the "Carbon Balance" World Cup.
