Distributed roof PV

16-12-2022

Since the energy problem is imminent, industrial and commercial rooftop photovoltaic has come into people's vision, and in the 20 years of development, it has gradually become the standard equipment of enterprises. Its advantages are reflected in many aspects: first, as a clean energy without pollution, photovoltaic power generation has been strongly supported by the state in recent years. Secondly, after 20 years of large-scale development, the photovoltaic industry has greatly reduced the cost of power generation, and has become the first choice of enterprises with high energy consumption.

As a photovoltaic enterprise founded in 2001, Suntech has been committed to the solution of photovoltaic power generation scenario. In 2021, distributed PV installed capacity accounted for more than 53%, and in the first three quarters of this year it was nearly 70%. There is no doubt that distributed PV has become the main force of PV power generation. Distributed projects are generally divided into three categories: small household roofing projects, large household or medium-sized industrial and commercial roofing projects, and large industrial and commercial roofing projects. So how to select components according to different distributed scenarios?

Small household project component application

The core concept of small household distributed project design is that the higher the installed capacity, the greater the benefit. However, since the area of household roof is usually small and the roof forms are different, how to maximize the roof area is particularly important. In addition, the installation conditions are slightly harsh, and the installation of large-size components is relatively difficult. For such projects, especially when overseas customers require a single component size of less than 2 meters in length, Suntech launches the Ultra V mini Lightweight version. The 182 54 version design is small and lightweight, which is more convenient for single handling and installation (about 21KG in weight).

Large household and small and medium-sized industrial and commercial project component applications

Large household use and small and medium-sized industrial and commercial projects are between small household use and large industrial and commercial projects. The available area is moderate, the installation conditions are slightly relaxed, and the BOS cost reduction brought by high power components is gradually reflected, but the core logic is still to use the limited area to improve the installed capacity. In response, Suntech has launched Ultra V Edition, which is based on the 182 72 model design. This series of components is relatively flexible in size, relatively appropriate in weight, high in power and efficiency, easy to install, and its electrical compatibility with the mainstream inverter type in the global market, which can bring better returns to customers.

Large industrial and commercial project component applications

The core concept of large-scale industrial and commercial roofing systems is still that the higher the installed capacity, the greater the profit, while the BOS savings brought by high-power and high-efficiency components need to be considered. In addition to the regular Ultra V 72 model, Suntech also recommends the more efficient Ultra V Pro, which is an upgrade to PERC technology. The Ultra V Pro series is powered by the 182 N TOPCon battery technology. It has the advantages of extremely low temperature coefficient, better weak light performance and lower power attenuation. With the same component size, the component efficiency can be up to 22.6%. For the same roof area, the BOS cost is 3% lower than conventional PERC products and the LCOE KWH cost is 5% lower. With the same installed capacity, the power generation gain is as high as 3.74%!
