Market development and future prospects of China’s photovoltaic industry
Output growth:
According to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
In the first half of 2024, the output of major links in China's photovoltaic industry chain has achieved high proportion growth. The national output of photovoltaic polysilicon, silicon wafers, cells and modules all increased by more than 30% year-on-year. Among them, the output of polysilicon reached 1.06 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 74.9%;
The output of silicon wafers, crystalline silicon cells, and crystalline silicon components increased by 58.6%, 38.1%, and 32.8% year-on-year respectively.
Production capacity:
China's photovoltaic industry has made remarkable achievements in many aspects such as cells, modules, and silicon wafers, and its output and capacity are among the best in the world.
In 2023, China's photovoltaic module production capacity and output will reach 920GW and 518.1GW respectively, a year-on-year increase of 66.7% and 75.8% respectively.
From January to June 2024, the national solar photovoltaic module output reached 271GW, a year-on-year increase of 32.8%.
