POE as a main material is widely used for a double -glass/ bifacial solar panel encapsulation.
POE is usually a random copolymer elastomer of ethylene and high carbon α-olefins (1-butene, 1-hexene, 1-octene, etc.)
Due to the special molecular structure, a microphase structure interspersed with crystalline phase and amorphous phase will be formed in the material, in which the crystalline phase endows the material with rigidity, and the amorphous phase endows the material with flexibility.
It is precisely because of its special properties that POE is widely used in photovoltaics, automobiles, construction, cables and other fields.
Demand side: PV drives POE demand growth. POE film has both anti-PID performance and water vapor barrier properties. It is the mainstream packaging material for double-glass modules, and it performs well in mainstream N-type battery module packaging.
As the market share of double-glass and N-type batteries continues to increase, the demand for POE particles is expected to maintain rapid growth.
According to our calculations, the demand for POE particles in the global photovoltaic field will be 44.4/620/764,000 tons from 2023 to 2025, with an average annual compound growth rate of 19.83%.
Moreover, under the lightweight trend, the annualized growth rate of POE demand in automotive and other fields is expected to be 3-5%.
