The world's first ultra-high altitude photovoltaic demonstration base has been put into operation in Sichuan
Recently, the world's first ultra-high altitude photovoltaic empirical experimental base project -- the first batch of power generation units of the State Power Corporation Xingchuan Empirical photovoltaic power station connected to the grid, marking the official production and application of the base.
The reporter learned that Xingchuan photovoltaic empirical experimental base in Sichuan Ganzi Prefecture is located in Zhengdou Dinggong grassland of Sichuan Ganzi Prefecture about 4000 meters above sea level, with a total installed capacity of 600,000 kW.
The total area of the project is about 13650 mu, and the total investment is about 3.2 billion yuan. After the full capacity is connected to the grid, the annual average power generation is 1.268 billion KWH, the annual saving of standard coal is about 390,000 tons, and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions is about 1.07 million tons, which will further optimize the energy structure of Sichuan Province.
"Unlike pure photovoltaic power plants, the photovoltaic empirical base is like the 'encyclopedia' of the photovoltaic industry." Zhou Qingjia, chairman of the State Power Investment Company in Sichuan, said that the more far-reaching value of the empirical base is to explore the development of photovoltaic technology and improve the efficiency and cost performance of photovoltaic power generation.
Zhou Qingjia further said that Xingchuan empirical photovoltaic power station set up photovoltaic module, inverter, bracket, energy storage device, comprehensive comparison of 5 empirical test areas, take 127 kinds of comparison scheme, to carry out empirical experiments on photovoltaic, energy storage products and new technologies.
After operation, the power station will fill the gap of photovoltaic empirical base in ultra-high altitude and mid-latitude areas, and provide reference for photovoltaic construction in Sichuan-Tibetan Plateau and areas with similar scenes nationwide.
At the same time, the implementation of Xingchuan photovoltaic demonstration power station project attaches equal importance to development and protection.
